Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate unloading and reduce transportation cost by a method wherein a pulverized-coal slurry loaded into a hold is kept still for a required time period for separation into a lower stacked coarse-coal layer and an upper stacked fine-coal layer, the upper stacked layer is returned to a ground stock-yard, leaving only the coarse coal in the hold, and the coal is transported while being dehydrated. CONSTITUTION: A pulverized-coal slurry transported from a coal mining place is filled in a hold 1 and kept still for a required time period, for separation into a lower coarse-coal layer L and an upper fine-coal layer H. In this condition, slurry discharge ports 5 are opened, the fine-coal slurry of the layer H is flowed out of the hold 1 through the ports 5 and down the outside surfaces of lateral bulkheads, and returned to a ground stock-yard through a discharge pipe; thus, only the layer L is left in the hold 1. The coarse-coal slurry of the layer L is dehydrated and solidified by a dehydration filter during transportation, and unloaded by grab work at the unloading site. COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
